Sophie Kinsella did a good job on this intruging book about an mental ilness. Audrey is only foutheen years old when she gets diagnosed . not only does Sophie writes about such horrible mental illness she also writes that it is possible to recover.
personally I thought this book wouldn’t end up good because everyone kept going on and on that it was a good book. most of the time if I listen to other opinions I end up disappointed. but how wrong was I?
well let’s say that this book isn't your typical YA book. Sophie Kinsella just drags you in a story full of reality. it covers some deep and horrible truths about mental illness. it made me confront some hidden feelings and looked at the world differently after reading this.
I could find myself a few times in Audrey, not on her diagnose generally but more on some of the things she does. She is different from other people and they don’t always show that they understand her. Even if they try they won’t understand it.
The story is well built, luckily it also had some humor in it because if it didn’t I’m not sure if I would have finished it.
This may be a short review but there is not to much to say, I can’t find the right words to put my thought on paper. It was truly an amazing and touching book.
