Book : Siege and Storm
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Pages: 435
Rating: ★★★★★
Goodreads Synopsis:
Hunted across the True Sea, haunted by the
lives she took on the Fold, Alina must try to make a life with Mal in an
unfamiliar land. She finds starting new is not easy while keeping her identity
as the Sun Summoner a secret. She can’t outrun her past or her destiny for
long.
The Darkling has emerged from the Shadow
Fold with a terrifying new power and a dangerous plan that will test the very
boundaries of the natural world. With the help of a notorious privateer, Alina
returns to the country she abandoned, determined to fight the forces gathering
against Ravka. But as her power grows, Alina slips deeper into the Darkling’s
game of forbidden magic, and farther away from Mal. Somehow, she will have to
choose between her country, her power, and the love she always thought would guide
her--or risk losing everything to the oncoming storm.
Thoughts:
my thoughts on Siege and Storm is pretty
simple and short. I loved this book as much as I loved the first one.
The love between Alina and Mal is more
developed and I love it! the Darkling makes his appearance once again, and a
lovely prince/pirate also joined the story this time.
Alina ran away but ended up in back at the
little palace to help the kingdom defeat the darkling. I actually loved this
book more than the first one, Shadow and Bone.
Mal struggles to be with Alina and Alina
struggles with more than one person at a time.
The prince decided to make their
relationship even harder by making Alina do things she didn't even want to do.
the distance grows more in this book between Aline and the people she loves.
The Darkling decides to buzz in even more
by showing up unexpected. You can just feel all the pain and suffering going on
caused by him.
This book makes the Grisha seem so real
but at the same time it seems like a dream or rather a nightmare.
Only one book to go and the way the story
is going right now I'm not sure if I want to know how it ends. Only because
this book is written so good! and I simply can't wait to meet Leigh Bardugo
herself!
